ACCIDENT - AIRLINK FLIGHT Update #6 at 13h00

JOHANNESBURG - Following in-depth consultation this morning between Airlink’s management and the medical specialists ,who are attending to our three crew members and the member of the public ,we would like to report on their status as follows:

1. Capt Alistair Freeman, remains in a critical condition he is currently under sedation to assist the healing process, his fluctuating blood pressure is cause for concern. Any additional operations to attend to his severe injuries are obviously dependent on his current condition stabilizing.

2. First Officer Sonja Bierman, has responded very well and could in fact be transferred to a high care facility in Johannesburg later in the week.

3. Flight Attendant Rodelle Oosthuizen is in significant pain due to her spinal injuries, her operation is planned for Tuesday evening.

4. The member of the public, Durban Solid Waste employee Mr Abraham Mthethwa, continues to recover in ICU - his condition is stable.

Airlink representatives remain in Durban to provide close support for the patients and their families.
